Dr. M. Jeyapaul

Dr. M. Jeyapaul

Biography and Education Profile

Dr. Jeyapaul graduated from Madras Veterinary College in Madras, India. After graduating, he became a Research Assistant at the Department of Pathology at the Madras Veterinary College. Soon after, he and his wife, Nirmala moved to the United States. Dr. Daniel C. Stearns of Ohio offered him an internship that is required for foreign trained veterinarians at his six-doctor hospital. During this year of training, Dr. Jeyapaul passed the state licensing examination in Maryland, Ohio, and Florida. It was the hot sun and the palm trees of Florida that reminded him of his home town in India and so he finally decided to make it his home.

He opened his first clinic in 1983 in a shopping center and eventually moved to the 4000 sq.ft free standing building in the city of Royal Palm Beach, Florida where he practices today. He currently attends numerous continuing education classes in and around Florida. He has received three diplomas from the North American Veterinary Post-Graduate Institute.

He is often described as a no-nonsense but compassionate doctor. His clients appreciate his straightforward method of practicing. He may not smile often or express his emotions freely (except when he is with his grandchildren), but those who know him are grateful for all the care he has provided for their pets over the years with no frills or strings attached.

Hobbies

Cricket has been his favorite sport ever since college when he was the captain of his team. His interests also include politics, Thai food, and going to the movies with his wife.

Acknowledgments

Dr. Jeyapaul is very grateful to Dr. Anandarangam and Dr. Stearns for giving him the opportunity to learn all the basics of veterinary medicine in this country. He would also like to express his sincere gratitude to Dr. V.Ratnasabapathy, Dean of Madras Veterinary College, India, for offering him his first job at the University as Research Assistant. He is especially grateful for his wife and children for all their support throughout the years. And of course, Dr. Jeyapaul would like to express his sincere thanks to all his clients for all their support.
